Every gardener needs a sturdy spade, one with a large handle will make it easier for digging and transferring soil.

Gardening Gloves

Thorns and brambles can pack a punch, and they will also keep your hands clean, obviously.

Garden rake

Clearing up is an essential part of keeping your garden tidy, and if you’ve got a lot of tree’s your life will be a lot easier with a proper rake.

Kneeler pillow

You will rarely find a soft spot to kneel whilst gardening, a decent pillow or foam board to kneel on will make your life a lot easier.

Digging fork

Don’t use your spade to dig, it’ll be much more work than if you used a digging fork. Great for turing soil and up-earthing vegetables.

Trowel

Can be used in lots of different ways, especially good for transplanting and planting containers or pots.

Hand fork

Great for taking out those pesky weeds.

Secateurs

Make pruning a breeze with reliable and well made secateurs. If you miss this item, you’ll struggle to reign in out of control plants.

Watering can

A must have, especially if you have a big garden. Watering cans come in different sizes, so buy one that suits the needs of your garden or buy a couple so you aren’t having to lift a 10L watering can over your head to water hanging baskets.
